cancer met me, Abby Match, on 8/5/20.  I didn’t welcome it, but I accepted it and I am choosing to make the best out of our relationship.  A diagnosis of triple negative breast cancer and later finding out I carry the BRCA1 mutation meant that I wasn’t properly screened to reduce my chances of developing breast cancer.  No, I didn’t have a family history of breast cancer, but I am of ashkenazi Jewish descent and I now know that was enough to have been educated on the importance of genetic screening.  It is my mission and passion to work through this and design a better layout and protocol so others are informed of their risk factors and have access to screening.
